The name came from home.

Mmeri means “victory” in Igbo, my parents’ language. They came from Nigeria. I wanted the name to carry something of my family with it.

I started building Mmeri because finding a pickleball game can still mean chasing texts across a few group chats. It should be easier to find a game, see who’s in, and make plans to play again.

I want Mmeri to make it easier to find people to play with, whatever sport brings them together. First, we’re focused on pickleball. We have to get that right before we go further.
